Umbrella Insurance

Understanding Umbrella Insurance

Umbrella insurance helps protect you from claims and lawsuits that may go beyond the limits and coverage of other policies. Umbrella insurance helps protect your assets and your future in two ways:

  1. Umbrella insurance is a policy that goes over what is called underline policies, like – your Home, Auto boat, on the personal side or General liability, workers compensation on the commercial side. If these underline policies limits are exhausted – the Umbrella will add coverage.
  2. Umbrella insurance can provide coverage for claims that may be excluded by other liability policies including claims like false arrest, libel, slander, and liability coverage on rental units you own.
